Pollinated by Honeyeaters, the Hookers, called an Icecream tree by one of our visiting Back packers, are one of the most popular cut flowers available in sandy soils with limited water availability.
A non-lignotuberous shrubby Banksia growing up to 3m high and 2-4m wide. Yellow-orange flowers from winter-summer make for fantastic cut flowers, typically grows in sand. Plant in full sun and very well-drained soil. Lightly frost and drought tolerant when it has established.
