Dense, upright, versatile shrub with small wedge-shaped, serrated leaves and soft, rusty brown new growth. Long-lasting, large, cylindrical flower spikes are followed by russet coloured cones. Performs best in an open, sunny position with well-drained soil. Tolerates alkaline soils, drought, coastal conditions, wind and light frost. Avoid poorly drained sites. Attracts nectar feeding birds and is a lovely cut flower.
Available in yellow and red flowering forms.
