An evergreen shrub with grey-green leaves on slightly pendulous branches. From spring to late summer this native bears a mass of brilliant red-flowering spikes which attract nectar-feeding birds. Thrives in a sunny position in most soil types, and tolerates light frost and drought. Ideal as a screening plant, for windbreaks, roadsides and general garden planting. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
