Carex appressa

A hardy, evergreen sedge with a very dense habit which makes it a great nesting/safety plant for birds. It is also very insect and butterfly attracting with brown flowers appearing in spring and summer. A great plant for wet areas or poor soils, revegetation and stabilising embankments, but will also tolerate some dry periods. The foliage may irritate sensitive skin. Moderately frost tolerant, plant in full or part sun.
