Chorizema cordatum

$4.00

This small WA shrub has delicate pink-orange flowers in winter and spring that allude to a pea shape, giving the genus its common name. Being a legume, it possesses the useful ability to provide nitrogen with the nodules on their roots. Plant in well-drained soil and a partly or fully shaded position, only slightly frost tolerant. Can adapt to sandy gravel, sandy clay and loam over granite and laterite. Especially found along watercourses, streams and in wet flats.
