Eucalyptus gomphocephala

Moderate to long lived tree with fast to moderate growth rate. White flowers appear from mid-summer to mid-autumn and are an important source for honey manufacture. Good grain and colour made the timber highly valuable in the past as a durable hardwood used for boat building and furniture making. Prefers light sandy soil in a sunny position. Tolerates mild frost, salt laden winds and drought.
