Eucalyptus platypus ssp. platypus

A fast growing, spreading coastal mallee with a dense habit, similar to Euc. platypus var. heterophylla, however they differ in leaf shape, bud formation and soil type. This species grows well in heavier soils including clay and gravel. It has yellow-green flowers in spring and summer. Used as a good windbreak or screen and responds well to pruning.
