Hakea orthorrhyncha

A spreading shrub to approx 2.5m wide. The flat narrow linear, dark green leaves are sharply pointed but softly textured. Bright red flowers are borne in clusters on the old wood, however its relatively open habit makes them easy to see and a good bird attractor. A beautiful shrub that prefers well drained, full sun locations. Ideal for windbreaks, screening and waterwise gardens. Responds well to light pruning occasionally.
